Kickstarter Introduction

If you don’t know Game Launcher Creator V2 yet, now is the time!

We have lots of users around the world that use Game Launcher Creator V2 to create game launchers, app launchers, kiosk applications and many more.

When we first developed GLC V2, we developed it using a framework that enabled us to enhance the feature-set much better than what could be done in V1. V1 was limited, so we knew if we wanted Game Launcher Creator to develop better as product we had to rewrite the framework it depended on. Along came V2 and it’s now on a nice framework where we can develop new features all the time.

We want to take this opportunity right now to offer a quick-injection, no-nonsense way to develop some premium and rich features for Game Launcher Creator V2 that will last a lifetime.

We literally have ONE SHOT at this Kickstarter Campaign so let’s make it count!

New GLCV2 Features

Here are the features we want to implement into Game Launcher Creator V2 quickly and professionally. These features will super-enhance the product and provide users with a spectacular amount of new, rich features for the custom launchers.

At this initial milestone, we want to hire some awesome designers to create a huge library of new templates and assets for you to use in your game launcher projects.

They include:

GTA / FiveM Launcher Designs
Awesome Game Design Library
Discord / Website / Video Buttons
Template Images / Transparent Images
Unique Animated GIFs

If the initial milestone is hit, we intend to implement many useful scripts and tools inside both the GLC editor and the launchers to enable you to do more stuff with your FiveM / Rust / Valheim / CSGO / Minecraft launchers.

Such as:

Launch Clear FiveM Cache from within the Launcher (embedded)
Player / Server Stats Real-Time (Auto-Refresh of the scripts every x seconds – you define!)
Car Registration Plate Editor
Mod Loaders
Easier Mod Patch System
Custom MC Login Screen
and many other little utilities and options…

This is the most important and primary feature to integrate.

It is a complete, standalone webkit using Chromium at the core. This enables a brand new, feature-rich WebView object to be integrated into your launchers so you can display beautiful looking websites and webpages using the latest technologies including HTML5/CSS3.

What kind of websites/content will it support?

It would literally support any type of content you throw at it.

Including:

HTML5 Websites
Elementor Websites
Login Pages / Catalogs
Online Shops / eCommerce
Integrate HTML5/Web games

You would be able to integrate all of these types of components and many more, directly inside your launchers!

Having a feature-rich webkit (WebView object) inside GLC V2 would be a massive, massive upgrade to what you can do with your launchers and desktop applications and a serious upgrade from the current WebView object.

There is high-demand for some form of ‘Launcher Login’ process. The biggest issue with this is, there are far too many different combinations of systems people are using to integrate directly into the launchers.

So we have figured, there are two ways we could achieve this:

1) Develop a ‘Design your own login screen’ where you could create your own login screen and put in your own text boxes asking for the information required (ie: username/password) and create buttons such as (login/register). You then create and design your own login screens and choose what information is sent to a PHP script for your own login system (using GET/PUT/POST queries). You simply await your own login script to verify the login and then send back any parameters you need to get (such as username/profile information) etc.

2) We devise our own login system (and develop the PHP scripts) to enable you to design your own login screens, use our scripts to create your own database on your server and everything is pretty much handled for you in terms of login and using the launcher for that particular profile. The basics would be implemented for you (ie: Account Creation/Login/Reset Password) and you would have to extend beyond this should you wanted the system to do more things, but we can make the bridge work for you inside the launcher. So if you wanted to add ‘Does a user have access to this particular game/mod’? You could manually update an entry inside your pre-configured database with a Boolean (0/1) 0= no access / 1= access. There are a million different, custom attributes you would be able to configure for your project.

There has been a big demand for some form of image carousel object so you can create slideshows and much more.

We would be able to develop a new ‘slideshow object’ which would enable you to insert an unlimited amount of images to create a ‘slideshow’ or ‘image carousel’ with clickable links, captions and even video support.

If we achieve this milestone, we want to remove AOPS completely and replace it with a more modern version by integrating a free, lite version of GPC (Game Patch Creator – https://gamepatchcreator.com).

This will enable more customisation, unlimited download speeds (no caps) and quicker builds of patches for your game files. Plus a more detailed debugging system which literally spells out exactly where the issue lies, if there are any issues.

If we achieve this milestone, along with the new patching system, we will also develop a new icon compiler right inside GLC so you no longer have to manually change the launcher executable’s icon.

You will be able to simply select a new icon file from within GLC and when you build your launcher, GLC will automatically compile the icon directly into the launcher runtime.

If we achieve this milestone, we will develop a full GLC marketplace system where users can sell their own assets, scripts, designs, templates and tools to other users.

It will be fully integrated into the actual GLC Editing software so users can browse the catalog, purchase and download/install/access the assets immediately.

This provides a smooth, seamless, marketplace integration for both users looking for assets and developers who want to sell assets to potential users/buyers.

Why Kickstarter?

You maybe wondering why we are doing a Kickstarter campaign? Well, people want to see these features and upgrades that were never originally planned for Game Launcher Creator V2.

We always want to improve the product and keep it growing to be the best game launcher development tool on the market, but we only have so many pairs of hands. Between developing GLC V2 and working on other projects (to pay bills) we can only develop at a slow and steady pace.

We also need to pay for some licenses and additional licenses for some of the DLL components to be used.

Add on the fact Microsoft ended support for their Web Component object which basically rendered the webview object we created inadequate for displaying anything decent in the web browser and we have a lot of work ahead of us.

By us launching and running a Kickstarter campaign, should we be lucky enough to hit the initial target (and/or additional milestones) we can afford to get all hands on deck immediately and hire more hands to help us achieve these new objects and features within the space of a 2-3 months instead of 12-18 months.

To thank our supporters, this DLC add-on will be exclusive to Kickstarter backers for the first three months before being integrated into the main product.

We would never give up on our product and this is not what we’re doing, we simply want to convert 12-18 months of work and develop it all in 2-3 months so you can use these features much earlier and develop much better launchers than what you currently can do.

Meet the team

Danny is the lead developer and CEO of ByteBox Media. Danny works mainly on the development of Game Launcher Creator V2.

Stephen is a lead developer at ByteBox Media and provides Mod development and support for product design.

XPG is the Support Manager for our Discord server, users and the community. XPG also works on product development.

Our performance

Game Launcher Creator was developed in 2017 and first released as Version 1 in Feb 2018.

Since then we have logged over 150 updates, with new features, fixes and improvements to both the Editor and the Launcher runtimes.

We have seen many new and great features implemented such as Minecraft compatibility, exportable templates, cloud video streaming and many new button options.

Game Launcher Creator V2 is our flagship product and after 3 years of development and mainstream public use, we can safely say we are the Number One Game Launcher creation software to exist, complete with a Drag n Drop interface which means users can prototype and develop custom launchers in literal minutes with no programming at all.

Another achievement to note is we have over 3000 user support tickets solved, to date.
